You Are Loved

Everyone is welcome at Westside! If you attend church regularly or have never been to one, if you are young or old, rich or poor, male or female, LGBTQ or straight, homeless or housed, addict or clean, you are welcome here. Come as you are - dress up or dress down. Your presence will be a blessing to us.

What to Expect on a Sunday in Person

You will park in the large parking lot and make your way straight ahead to the main building. You will be greeted by a smiling person and will be invited into the entryway, where you will encounter a selection of teas, coffee, and most Sundays, a food treat. From there, you will enter through another set of see-through doors into what’s called a sanctuary - a space set aside for encountering the Holy Spirit. There will be music with live instruments and vocalists, a children’s moment or lesson, a time of hearing the Scripture read aloud, and a message given aloud, usually from the pastor. There will be a time for offering our gifts and blessings back to God, a time for general prayer, a time of confidential prayer (with the live online feed turned off), announcements, and a final blessing. The service runs between 60 and 70 minutes.

If you attend on a Sunday, you will encounter a diverse, hopeful, loved-by-Jesus community that connects to God through music, is learning to follow Jesus, love one another, and resource the needs in our larger community and world.

For the Children

Do we love when children come on Sundays? YES! We have a large, light-filled room attached to the rear of the sanctuary for our little ones. Two adults, including our Children & Youth Coordinator, provide crafts, playtime, snacks, and loving care while you attend the service. On most Sundays, the children join the service for a children’s moment lesson or song. You are also welcome to keep your children with you in the service, if you prefer.
